Tenure is simply a procedure that must be followed after a teacher has made it through their trial period. Good teachers do not suddenly turn into bad teachers. They were bad teachers that admins did not cut loose when it was easy to do so.
In your first few years at any teaching job they can release you at the end of a school year no questions asked. Tenure only gives you some due process rights after that trial period.
