Same here for all of the reasons Lt. Dangle discussed. Have had no issues, even with hot implements placed directly on quartz surface. We have dark birch cabinets & medium dark oak flooring, so went with a white quartz with embedded bits of reflective glass to catch lighting.
Have had for 5 years and love these surfaces. Did them in bathrooms as well.
