I have not gone into the showroom yet to look at details. Initially got a quote for granite, with it getting more expensive as it got lighter ( I am leaning towards wanting lighter colors). He said quartz was priced similar, but not sure yet what they have available.
A quick read says quartz is a bit more durable and easier to take care of to ensure that durability..and you don't have to reseal it or something like that..so less maintenance.
Realtor that I had come by to do a quick reno overview said quartz was becoming more popular because you get a more consistent pattern (since it is manufactured).
