sealing/treating. More durable and easier maintenance. More stain resistant.
We were told that the one draw back is that quartz is not quite as resistant to very high heat. Always put a pad down before setting a hot pan on the counter.
As far as looks, you can probably find something that looks good regardless of which one you choose. There are enough variations that it really wasn't an issue.
