so you can get a degree that society told you was needed in order to get a decent job and then it turns out there are less decent jobs available than there are degreed individuals (or at least available jobs that require a degree and pay accordingly) so you're faced with crippling debt without a job to pay it back (much less pay for things like, you know, food and shelter). there are about a million things that contributed to this mess - don't act dumb and talk about it being a simple matter of "you amassed a debt now it's your responsibility to pay for it".

it's far more complex than that and you know it. that's why this is a thing and "FORGIVE ALL CREDIT CARD DEBT" isn't.
