preseason All American for off the court reasons and then a mid-season Wooden award nominee was injured in the middle of the year. He definitely would have produced at a much higher level without losing two hugely crucial pieces to circumstances outside his control. But I suspect the same could be said of basically any coach having to play without such cornerstone pieces. That is why he 'only' got 5th in the SEC and 'only' won 23 games and MU was 'only' nationally ranked 13 weeks that season, because he was trying to coach through a depleted roster.
