a lot has been learned about the virus the past month. There is more data, more testing, and more treatments in trial. While I agree those things aren't at adequate level yet, they are a lot closer than they were a month ago.
It also looks like mitigation or lack thereof has way less impact in places with lower population density. None of the few states who didn't issue shelter in place orders are getting hammered as a result. Those continue being the states with the least impact. Wyoming, North Dakota, and Montana have under 20 combined covid deaths. Taking the same measures there as NYC is simply silly.
