Multiple reports Wednesday indicated that former South Florida head coach and former John Calipari assistant Orlando Antigua will join Underwood's staff as an assistant coach with the Illini.
Antigua spent six seasons under Calipari at both Memphis and Kentucky, part of three Final Four trips in four seasons between 2011 and 2014. While Antigua was at Kentucky, the Wildcats recruited the best high school talent in the country, Calipari's staff earning commitments from the likes of Brandon Knight, Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Marquis Teague, Willie Cauley-Stein, Nerlens Noel, Alex Poythress, Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Dakari Johnson, Julius Randle and Karl-Anthony Towns.
That guy will end up burning the Illini, and then Underwood will fail in spectacular fashion without him bringing talent into the program. If Kim Anderson hadn't foolishly not allowed Fuller and Fulford to recruit, he would have had tons of talent coming into his program. But that wouldn't be because he was a good recruiter.
