1994 is the great demarcation point in college basketball. Since then conference championships have been 'meaningless' in this sport, have they not?

How can you 'appreciate' a season where you won a conference championship? Are you intimating that there IS something attendant to being regular season champions of your conference in the sport of college basketball that would make one want to 'appreciate' it?
