Let's not pretend like the main strength we have as a country isn't geography.

We could have left everyone alone and these places would still produce people that want to come here just based on the fact that we're a country that spans a continent and has all the resources and is also not easily attacked.

However it goes, importing everyone from these places to America isn't going to fix those places. It will make them worse.

We're lucky. Extremely lucky. However, our luck isn't transferable just based on proximity.
