It's a lasting fix and a monument to something that needs further effort solving.
As I said on the politics board, a manpower solution to the issue is easily changed when Oprah or Michelle Obama or whoever else the left's response to Trump is takes office. If you make border security something based on budgets, it will disappear. The additional border agents will eventually be appropriated to HHS to sign immigrants up for welfare instead of keeping them out and funneling them into the legal process.
If there's a wall/barrier, when the ****ing thing falls in disrepair, someone has to say why.
It's okay to say you want everyone here because it's better, it's harder to sell when there's something keeping them out.
I'm for open borders without a welfare state, if we're going to support everyone coming in for whatever reason financially, we need control.
Return to Ellis Island where people get in unless they're sick and have to survive/create organized crime syndicates to survive, or be honest about wanting them to come in and get supported by the taxpayer.
This middle ground **** is for the birds.
