about brand recogntion
But I do think that South Carolina, Ole Miss, and MSU would be behind Missouri (as well as KY and Vandy).
TN has fallen off these past 15 years, too: 9 bowls in the past 15 years, to our 11 bowls (we missed 2004, 2012, 2015, 2016). TAMU has been about equal with us: 12 bowls in the last 15 years. Both TN and TAMU think they are better than they have been over the past few years ... hard to argue that both of these schools don't have a distictive 'brand' that is better than ours though.
Remember, we had some pretty good teams and good PR from about 2003 to 2017, and actually won the SEC East twice and the B12 S twice (and lost on tie-breaker one other time)... top 5 in the nation finish twice ... 11 bowl games in those 15 years. Recent history counts for something but not sure how much versus longer term history ---
No time for better reseach but I'm going to say that I feel that our brand is not bad, and stronger than SC, AR, Ole Miss, MSU, and Vandy for sure ... TN is fading I think, and IMO they don't have the right coach right not to get them back into the thick of things. AR is hopeless ...
And we've had our share of very exciting players that people wanted to see as well ... anyway, interesting
