How is it determined which schools will "best represent"...

the conference, any given season?.. The only fair approach is basing it on the quality & merits of each school's team for that particular season, to avoid bias and preferential treatment that would favor certain SEC members over others, giving them an unfair recruiting advantage.

And fortunately, we have credible ranking systems for determining which teams are best — the CFP poll, AP poll, and Coaches poll.

This year, there are three 4-4 SEC teams: MSU, MU and USCe. MSU and MU are both ranked, USCe isn't even receiving votes. Seems like an easy decision as far as which 4-4 teams would "best represent" the conference this year. No?
