But the more I think about it, I'm not sure why I care. The argument that the bigger programs will have a big advantage in getting the better players is silly if you really think about it. They already DO have a big advantage. The better players already DO go to the upper level programs. That's why they're upper level programs. We all know money has exchanged hands for a long long time. It's part of how some of the upper level programs got to be upper level programs. It's nearly impossible to police. Why not just open it up? What would be different than now except we wouldn't be wasting time and money worrying about it and the programs that have honestly tried to stay above the fray could jump in without fear. Heck it might even eventually spread the talent around a little more. Mizzou might have a better chance if we could get some big boosters to go all in on a player or two.
I'm still not sure if I want this to happen. But I'm less sure I don't than I used to be.
