better coaches out there that we could get.
But, we have to wait until the end of the season (or at least 3-4 more games) to see how things shape up.
I 100% stand firm in my assessment that this year will establish who Barry Odom is at MU. He was presented with 10 winnable games this year and the best QB he will ever have playing as a senior and a 4-year starter. He had his entire (good) online back. 3 good running backs. An electrifying receiver. A loaded DL. And Respectable talent across the rest of the D. Not great, but enough to keep teams under 30 ppg. We talk about Mizzou needing to have the stars align every once in a while to have a great season. They are aligned this year. If Barry wins 7 games under these circumstances, when the hell is he ever going to win more? Even if he wins 8...sure it's a step up but when can he ever possibly do better? Then Mizzou has to decide if that's good enough. Do we want to be a football program that wins 8 games in our best years and hope Martin builds an elite bball team? Or do we want to achieve what MU should be and win 8 games in a typical year? If Barry makes a bowl game, I do not pretend that this is an easy decision or one that should be made whimsically. It is a very big moment for the program.
