Chryst was an OC and former player at UW before he was brought back as head coach. Bielema was also an assistant before he succeeded Alvarez.

A lot of their Assistants are internally hired as well with a previous connection to the school.

The trick is that Alvarez, whether it was as Head Coach or AD, has always brought in good football people.
