I am not sure what you mean by regions of one?
I do believe in the min wage concept. I do not know how to set it.
I also do believe in some sort of minimal welfare standard as set forth by JeffB. My problem is if you have a minimum welfare standard, and no min wage, companies will pay lower and then the difference will be covered by the welfare standard.
The reason I think the min wage the way it is now is reasonable is that about 2% of the employed people are at min wage. if min wage were "too high" than we would see a much greater portion of people at that level, which is what I think we will see as these cities implement the $15/hr min wages.
