Think of this whole process as a pyramid. You use the people at the bottom to hook the people above them and so on.
This is not a crime scene. There's not direct evidence like a bloody knife or a body.
This is in some ways typical of white collar crime. Some written information, but most of this is obtaining testimony and information to open the door to a room containing more evidence which you use testimony and information to open another door and so on.
