good way to start your day or your prayers.
"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;"
"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
"Then men began to call on the name of the Lord."
"In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name."
"So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven."
Praying to anyone but God is direct disobedience to a clear command of Christ.
My paraphrase: Hey Jesus, how do we pray? You pray to the Father, because He is the one who answers prayers and gives you your daily provisions and protects you.
There is no room for prayers to saints in Christ's crystal clear commandment. So, unless you want to second guess Jesus Christ, and think that there is some reason He was wrong and you know better, you might want to reconsider your prayer life.
