I understand. I am not sure though - if you stepped back and viewed a people whose lands have been under military occupation for nearly 70 years. It seems that you think Palestinians started this. It was a clear deal Britain brokered. Two lands. Two nations. Jews said GFY. We want it all. So, I can't dis the Palestinians for fighting back.

From the eighties and the birth of aggressive "settlements" by Jews on Palestinian lands to CLAIM those lands and Israel's 100-1 mortality rate v Palestinians - I have essentially zero sympathy. Given the chance to play fair, Israel said GFY, We got the guns, we got America, we simply don't need to. CURIOUS thing is the demographics will win the day and Israel will lose. But it could have gone better.
