lateral movement. They are often the most athletic of the linemen. They will either kick out or seal on run plays and historically block the best pass rusher for a right arm QB.

From what I saw last year, McGovern wasn't horrible at moving laterally, he was just mediocre. He seems more suited to play guard, as he had done before lats year and now with the Broncos. He would have been our best guard last year, but he played out of position. So we had lesser quality players at guard.

Dave Matter had written that HCGP wanted to go with the older players at OL. My guess is that early on he didn't feel the younger were ready and as the season went on he was hesitant to play the younger guys .

We started the season with a very mobile QB in Mauk. My guess is that this probably contributed to the OL personnel decisions to start the season.
