coaches and trainers. Most of them don't make it past high school because they are not good enough and never would be. They essentially pay to play and move the average kids out from ever having a chance to play any of the skill sports even for fun. This basically starts in middle school. They either have a private coach/trainer or they aren't playing.

Or you have the kid that never needed any of it because they are gifted athletically. These kids are still there and still don't need to specialized in middle school. You can see the difference right away. They are usually the best at any sport they decide to play from day one.
