don't seem to understand Russia's proclaimed non-negotiable terms for ending the war.
Ukraine must be a neutral, independent country, with no NATO presence within their borders.
New, internationally accepted borders with the oblasks that have voted to become a part of Russia within the Russian boundaries.
No more new NATO countries that are hostile to Russia and which they would consider an existential military threat to Russia.
They have repeated those terms over and over again for months and nothing has changed other than the fact that they have been grinding down Ukraine's military to the point that they're drafting 16 year old boys who are being thrown into battle with little or no training... thrown into a virtual meat grinder really... and Russia is taking ground at an increasingly rapid pace.
Why would they give up their clear advantage when Ukraine is on the verge of a military collapse?
