I have long believed in the Divine. As for a Patriarchal system drawn from the societal norms extant some 2,000 -3,000 years ago wherein the Patriarch and the King ruled, not so much. Also the concept you see of Adam and Eve living in a garden and committing what would be called Original Sin, thus necessitating a Savior to forgive this sin - not so much. NOW, do I believe that a Charismatic itinerant preached existed who spoke of the importance of loving your enemies and rejecting the material world and pursuits inherent therein in favor of submitting one's entire life to the Spiritual - then yes, I "believe in that" yes.
