chambers. He is the backlash. Democrats put identity politics to the forefront. This is where Slavoj Zizek is useful with his criticism of identity politics. Progressives create these special groups, new classes of gay, trans “and so on and so on” and commodify them. These groups are a useful tool of division for them. They are treated as not quite part of the progressive body, because they are separated into their own groups and given political focus. Let trans play in sports. Call them by their right pronouns, if you don’t agree with this shame on you.

This keeps the progressive body together. Anyone in the progressive body who may speak out, like feminists are immediately attacked to keep in line. All the while these special groups are used to keep away discourse with Republicans.

Trump arose in these conditions as a response from the GOP.

Zizek says this is all BS. That the progressives are just continuing to promote a class system with its useful pawns (gays, trans, etc) to keep up their power structures. That society should be fighting for universal emancipation, where everyone has a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, not creating new classes.
