But I agree with what you are saying... years ago, I was at a trade show and a Chinese person approached me and said if I sent him a part I needed cheaper, his company would reverse engineer it and sell it for 20-40% of my current cost. He said his company had 2 dozend people with Masters Degrees in reverse engineering.

I declined.

Their culture is, as you said, different tghan ours and he was not trying to hide what his company did.
