The Episcopal Committee on the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) was established in 1934 by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to promote the CCD concept of instruction. The committee was led by Bishop Edwin V. O'Hara until his death in 1956.
