to Hawaii so he was born in Kenya. Shortly after, they flew to Hawaii and had a birth certificate made. No problem with his mom being a US citizen, right? Well, there was a law back then that a u.s. woman married to a non-citizen cannot pass citizenship to a child. That law has since been changed.
