going to take it from Harvard, you don't need to spend it on trade schools. Not spending in one place does not mean you have to take that money and spend it somewhere else. It is OK to hold on to tax dollars.
Now, to your discussion, I would also say the nature of US universities and higher education has degraded to the point that blindly assuming they will be fair and impartial decisionmakers in pursuit of truth is likely a poor decision to make. And I believe there is a wealth of evidence demonstrating the degree to which our "institutes of higher learning" have compromised themselves by working to justify agendas rather than following facts and truth.
