No true Mizzou fan has high expectations.
If anything we expect even the best team in Mizzou basketball history to blow it and lose to a 15 seed.
In fact that's usually the energy of the 'fan support'.
1. Terror at the beginning of any big game that we will be embarrassed.
2. Doubt and angst if we play close or even go up twenty.
3. 'I knew it' the moment we go down a few points, get a bad call or some player loses it for a moment.
4. Clutch rabbit foot at games' end (even up twenty) looking for the Hand of God to somehow extend down into the arena and magically give it to the other team.
There's the 'high expectation' of the Mizzou fan base and it usually does effect the team.
The team may think they are winners but the fan base quickly teaches them that WE are losers and that somehow the gods are against us.
So stick with that.
As a player the only thing I'd do with a "Mizzou fan' is disbelieve their praise, look at their real expectations and take it personal.
That's about all they're good for...
