At a 25% sales tax rate, you’d have to spend only $2160 to be taxed the same amount. Who lives on less than $200 per month?

And at a 40% sales tax rate, that’s closer to $100 per month.

If you want to argue that you can earn $20k, but make your own clothes, grow your own food, and never spend $200 a month on anything, go right ahead. I’ll be amused.
