You reference 2013, guess what Mizzou didn't win that game thus it did NOT play for a national title and was thus not a contender. In fact we were even close to winning that game, lost by 17 points and gave up 59 for the effort.
Then you mention last year. Guess what? Last year isn't this year. Last year you had to be in the top 4, we weren't, thus no shot at playing for a national championship.
