They handled the debate very poorly. Biden was obviously well under the weather. And he had a bad night. Trump took advantage and lied about 30 times and was trained to turn every question into a retort on the border. Campaign should have written it off as Biden being sick which he obviously was and moved on. And what he had said - and said poorly - was that they had defeated the spiralling costst of Medicaid. Since then he has done fine on his feet. WHAT THIS IS - and it just came to me - The debate did to Biden exactly what Dukakis looking like Snoopy in the tank did for him. At this point in THAT election, Dukakis was up 17 points.
