suspect that's because a good number of them are populated by fellow slavs and they understand the nature of the civil war in the Ukraine. They have no fear of Russia invading the West once the mess in the Ukraine is settled. In any case, how does continued Nato membership protect American interests? The Cold War is over and the Soviet Union was defeated and dissolved. Our traditional allies of Western Europe have invested so little in their respective militaries that they are useless should the U.S. mainland come under attack.
