his head-strong attitude and focus contributed to him being a great coach but a difficult subordinate. he wanted sean to have the k-state job. nobody but the two of them felt that was a reasonable choice.

you'll maybe remember that then a.d. john currie had set up a coach-in-waiting proposal for jim leavitt to follow snyder. snyder had a meltdown. soon after, currie was off to tennessee.

snyder was truly a great coach and is a wonderful human being. but like many others in that status, he can be insufferable about things that seem obvious to others.
