assessing it as our worst loss ever. Its compared against losses which have the advantage of the whole season playing out.

If we beat say the #8 ranked team in the second game of the season, immediately thereafter its viewed as a great win. If that team falls apart and actually sucked and was vastly overrated, at the end of the year nobody points to that win as beating a top 10 team if they are no longer considered good.
