just stupid. If that's the case, Mizzou would've been in 3 to 4 during Gary's tenure. Alas, we were not.
2) The big12 championship game was #3 that day. SEC with 10.89M viewers, big10 with 10.7M (which included Purdue in the game......mutt), then b12. But good job, you did beat AAC, ACC, SWAC, MWC, MAC, and SunBelt. Ironically, those are conferences (besides the ACC which wins NC's) that are right in line with the new b12.
3) TX hasn't won the b12 in over a decade, but you've brought up BYU's NC before as a selling point and that happened, only ONCE, in 1984.
You will probably be 3 or 4 in the line of conferences going forward, not disputable. However, you will only be a MEGA conference if you just keep adding lower-tier FBS schools just to have the membership.
The current b12 lineup now features (2) NC's in football. BYU 40 years ago and Colorado, who hasn't been relevant in 20+ years.
The b12 after TX and OU officially leaves only moves the needle in basketball. And outside of a nice run by Baylor once, that's all on ku, the worst football program in the conference.
