unique opportunity to unequivocally upgrade its situation to something more stable.
They were leaving Texas & Oklahoma, but replacing them with schools like Florida & Georgia.
By contrast, Colorado can join the Big 12 *whenever it wants*... the XII is never going to say "sorry, CU, too late... you missed your chance".
They would kick out K-State to make it happen, if necessary.
On top of not being a time-sensitive matter, it also requires CU to trade a bunch of academically prestigious institutions โ including (arguably) the top university in the entire world โ for the likes of West Virginia and Oklahoma State.
Again, you either missed the nuances or you're being intellectually dishonest.
