kstate won the CG, but TCU went to the CFP. Finished first in the conference standings at 9-0. Kinda' like in 2003 when you won the CG, but OU still went to the better Bowl and finished higher in the final rankings.

But I regress. Alabama should've been in the CFP over Michigan.
