uT and oU jumped for one simple reason. The best talent wasn't going to the Big 12 anymore and they couldn't compete on the highest level without it. With NIL the writing was on the wall, they had to go where the talent was which is either the SEC or the Big10. A decade ago texas had their pick of the litter of in state talent...not anymore.
They will again in the SEC.
