This is the part that makes no sense. You stated "prior to the pandemic".
When TFG took office, we had excellent job growth, we were on the longest economic recovery in US history; we had low crime, and relatively no major issues at the border.
Yet...he inherited a successful economy and gave an Inaugural address known as the " American Carnage Speech."
Our country was doing well, and he stood at the podium and talked about rampant crime, gang violence and burning cities, all of which was complete nonsense.
He started his campaign with the escalator ride to the podium, where he told the world that Mexicans are the problem with the United States.
I'm asking, but tell me how anyone listened to him and thought," Yeah, this guy is who we need?"
