RE:2013-2014 football

I was fairly close to the football program for most of Pinkel's time here. My access peaked 2011 through 2015. It was greatly distressing to watch destructive characters from the margins and outside the program influence many players and a few of the coaches and support staff. The racial stuff in 2015 destroyed team unity and fostered distrust within the team. You could feel it. There were other non-racial factors contributing to the chaos, as well. We had several conversations with Maria Taylor during several of the games she covered and got an idea how Mizzou was viewed around the SEC during that season. I don't know who to blame for letting the racial stuff get out of control, but IMO it destroyed a largely successful program. I hope Mizzou recovers, but won't be surprised if it takes many years and coaching changes.
