To make these young men get paid with a scale of every year their pay grade goes up and not locked into freshman or red shirt pay.
Parody will soon be the driving force, you have Saban again talking parody. To have 2 conferences turning into the mini NFL it is time to make the fans feel that their team can win. The NFL knows this. You will still have some programs that will be run bad, like Detroit Lions.
I have brought this up, teams with money (6-7 programs) will just stack recruits to keep away from others. Saban is looking into the future also, the health of the game will have to turn into a mini NFL.
A draft with bad teams getting first pick along with portal now turning into trades. With ESPN as well FOX, they will push for parody. The numbers for Bama vs Georgia or Ohio every year will just get lower and lower. Folks will tune out.
First big move is NCAA out of the 2 super conference. G5 teams hold their own Championship games. Also, they are feeders into the SEC as well Big 10. So they would have to be paid (compensated) for their players being moved up.
