really want to get back into mortal combat with the board over masks. As I understand it, the reason omicron is more contagious and less lethal is that it flourishes in the bronchus, but not in the lungs. This is the opposite of its predecessors, and makes it less lethal. And because the viral load is much greater in the upper respiratory tract, breathing and coughing expels many more virus particles than before.

Therefore, if you assume (as I did and still do), that the value of a mask is that it stops some though not all of the viruses being expelled, the total number of bugs now coming out of the mouth are much greater, hence the number penetrating the mask are much greater, and the value of the mask essentially negated.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
