Columbia from an Ozark fishing trip with my Dad sometime in the mid-70s. Coincidentally, it was on 54, Osage Beach, just on the north edge of town. 54 was two-lane in those days. Classic scenario -- cop was screened by a large roadside sign and I was just starting to increase my speed as I reached the city limits. Got me going around 55 in a 40. My Dad actually advised me not to pay it. Two months later the Boone County prosecutor's office called my Dad and said there was a warrant out for my arrest from Camden County. We got an attorney. Had to pay the fine, which was more than the original ticket due to "court costs." Maybe the local county prosecutor's offices are not as "diligent" as they were back then, but the more "prudent" course would be to pay up.
