there's no putting the genie back in the bottle if you just plead guilty and take the points. You happen to slip up a second time and it can become a problem.
Most jurisdictions will amend the charges for an enhanced fine. Good driving history and it's unlikely that they'll refuse to do that, since they know it's a speed trap. Otherwise, they'd step the zones down gradually, instead of suddenly, which is how they got you and your contribution to their municipal pot.
