recruiting takes much time to fill holes

Everybody wants world-class DL. They just aren't available.

That goes for JUCOs.

That goes for transfers.

Arkansas pulled a couple from here and that horse has been beat to death ... but there were issues there.

There are almost always down years within a year or three of a coaching transition due to the recruiting gaps at and around that transition.
