but the 5 power conferences (SEC, ACC, B1G, PAC, Big 8/12) have only expanded.

They have NEVER kicked out a member, and I can say with near certainty that the SEC, ACC, B1G, and PAC never will.

It's possible the Big12 might some day, for their own survival, but they're no longer a power conference.
