being able to take advantage of opportunities is important. missouri did that. it was good fortune as much as anything. the sec needed a runner with aTm and missouri was a willing partner. still, no one would ever call missouri a dixie state. and culturally it's a misfit in the sec, no different than k-state would be in p12.
