That one sentence pretty much sums ups this current round of realignment.
The SEC adding Texas and Oklahoma was a master stroke of the first order in it positions the SEC for the foreseeable as the dominant conference.
The undercurrent we need to pay attention to is it appears the ESPN/Fox is positioning themselves for two large NFL model conferences or four 16 team super conferences.
Unless there is a large media player added. I am not sure how CBS and NBC will fit into this? The lower tier Power5 and G5 are looking squarely at less revenue dollars.
Many have called this the inexorable march
to super conferences, but what if this is consolidation of college football elite programs instead?
